Over the last 25 years I have also worked regularly with consultant surgeons, including Sir Magdi H. Yacoub, and other expert practitioners such as Sarah Key, Physiotherapist to HRH Prince Charles The Prince of Wales, in the fields of:
Urology • Orthopaedics • Obstetrics & Gynaecology • Neurology • Cardiology My background is a traditional one, and for many years my work has been produced using watercolour, liquid acrylics, line and halftone techniques. Publishing today is mainly digitally-based, and I have made the transition from traditional to digital painting techniques over the last 8 years.
I work mostly using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, although I will combine traditional techniques with digital media, or produce traditional line and watercolour art if requested. Images are usually begun using a hand-drawn pencil sketch, which is then scanned in and painted digitally. This gives a human feel to the artworks and avoids the commonly-seen 'plastic feel' with many digital images.
Files can be sent to the client on CD, via email or FTP.
Artworks combining traditional and digital techniques are very effective, as are also those combining art and photography in one image.
