Professional experience and skills:
As a freelance medical illustrator I have worked for a wide variety of clients in the worlds of publishing, academia, commerce and of medicine, undertaking commissions for consultant surgeons, advertising agencies and art editors alike. Over this time I have seen a change in demand from traditionally-produced artwork using watercolour, pencil and ink to digital illustration produced using programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. At present I work mostly using Photoshop 7 and Illustrator CS, and seek to create work that has the feel and look of traditional artwork, sometimes combining hand-drawn line work with digital painting.
